Living for Books
Books and reading all kinds of stories have been a favourite pastime ever since I was a child.
I have to admit that since I grew up, got a job etc., it was much easier to go to the cinema, so the amount of books that I read started to decrease. But I still love reading and do it as often as I can.
My favourite genres are sci-fi, mystery, espionage, adventure... I also love the magic realism of García Márquez and Isabel Allende. In fact, I think that One Hundred Years of Solitude is my favorite book of all time.
I don´t think I have a favourite author, but García Márquez would be it, if I had one.
I love novels by H.G. Wells and Frederick Forsyth, John Le Carré... But I don´t like Dan Brown for example. George Orwell is one of my favourites too. Jules Verne, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov...
What to expect here regarding Books and Reading
I am no expert critic. I just know when I like something and when I don't. So please bear in mind that what you will find in the blog regarding books and reading is not a professional or expert opinion. It is just a way of expressing what I think about certain books that I have read.
Also, if you are looking for advice on what to read, I have found that recommendations of this kind seldom work. Even if you and I have a similar taste in literature, we will not like the same authors and books. However, what I think might be of help is that perhaps you will find some of my reviews or opinions useful in order for you to make up your mind.
In any case, what I do hope is that you will enjoy the blog. Please feel free to leave your comments.
